Hi I'm Chris or "Kerl" if you like! I teach drums in Surrey. I have been drumming for 25+ years alongside song writing, singing and production. I've written, drummed & sung on multiple albums & EP's and built up a strong discography and oodles of practical experience live and in the studio in genres ranging from rock/metal to electro/acoustic/pop. My current band is UK rock/metal band Zedi Forder.
The drums are the best instrument...I may of course be a little biased! I offer lessons with the aim of raising you to the level of playing your favourite songs as well as creating your own grooves. My tutoring style is informal, easy going, humorous and relaxed. I don't focus on exams and grades. I do focus on fun, fitness, motivation, band dynamics and nurturing your creativity and all at a pace you're comfortable with. My job is to teach you new techniques and inspire you to run with it.
REMEMBER - Drumming is for any age, young or old. I have students from seven to seventy! If you can swing a stick & move your legs you can give drumming a bash! I have a full sized kit & junior sized. Want to bring a friend and share your session and have a great bonding experience? No problem!
I am enhanced DBS checked. If you'd like your child to learn the drums but feel as though they're perhaps too young or lack the patience for lessons you can always take lessons yourself and pass on what you've learnt at a leisurely pace.
Alongside the fun and fulfilment of learning the best instrument and improving your ambidexterity please remember the many healthy positives of taking up the drums including burning calories, neutralising stress, boost cardio and generally enhancing well being.
