Rather than getting overwhelmed by the exceptions, I like to keep my lessons simple by focusing purely on spoken English; after all, it's most likely your goal is conversational English. Recently I've been learning Portuguese which has given me useful insight into what matters the most for learners and for me the most important thing to learn has been pronunciation.
So long as you can pronounce the sounds of a language you can ask for clarification because you can vocalise the word you struggle with to native speakers; you can ask what a certain word means because you can say the word. The more you speak in English, the better your English will become which will speed up the rate at which you can learn new vocabulary because you won't have to translate in your head.
While I believe pronunciation and constant speaking to be key to learning languages quickly, if you have interest in grammar or another topic I'd be happy to create you a personalised curriculum and lessons that align with your interests. I can design resources for your self study which support your style of learning whether that be pictures, audio, text, video, or something else.
