Though I have only been a qualified Primary School Teacher for 2 years now, I have been working as a Youth Worker in a village just a few miles outside of Durham since 2019. This job role has given me a large insight into the varying ways children behave and learn and over the 5 years I have been working with children and young people I have learned that the key to engaging them is to enthuse them. This is why my lessons have the balance of being fun and interactive, while still being informative and beneficial for the student.
You and your child can expect a friendly face, warm smile and strong appetite to learn should you choose me as your tutor. Whether you need times table help or help revising for next years SATs, I can provide an in depth or back to basics approach on just about any primary subject. Having chosen to deep dive into creative teaching in my dissertation at University, I discovered that creative teachers are more likely to create creative students, and that’s something I wish to bring to my tutoring by making lessons fun, engaging and memorable through the use of visual aids and artistic approaches. Anywhere where I can incorporate fun I will do so!
My own favourite subjects are Literacy/English and History, so you can expect a little extra enthusiasm from me should these subjects be areas that your child wishes to improve upon.
I look forward to hearing from you and providing you with the help you may need!
