I'm Chloé, I'm a 26 years old french native and been living in London for more than 4 years now.
I'm a nanny and help the kids I look after in learning french mostly.
I've been teaching french for more than 6 months to adults and 3 years to children.
Teaching french would be first talking with you to understand your needs and wants from learning french.
I want to know what your goals are and what your personality is like to see what kind of teaching methods would match for you. This could work for adults and children too: images, concepts, stories, word games, playing, visualisations, dissertations/essays/debates, brainstorming, reading aloud, dictées, presentations, choice of topics discussed, etc)
I truly believe that learning a language needs to be spoken first before anything.
So I will prioritise oral expression and conversation (listening and speaking) and then depending on your levels and your needs add progressively practice into the other language disciplines (reading and writing).
To teach kids learning french I enjoy playing games or do activities with them in french, reading books, make them describe images or environments, make them listening to music or make them do or help them with homework, we can also work with french activity books.
I usually work with a book when teaching to adults so I can give you some homework too!
In order to know your level or accomplishments: first few classes are focused on what you like or what is familiar to you (work, family, friends, activities, hobbies, preferences, culture, arts, etc) as it's easier to speak about what you already know or believe to be true.
