My lessons will involve the use infographics, images, video, and interactives on devices. I will also support text with visuals and audio. This will add to the student's learning experience as these methods will implement both visual and auditory learning. This can be of benefit to more students as some students can absorb information and have a deep understanding of it from hearing a lecture alone. Others are visual learners and need a little something more. Turning on the closed captions on videos will also be important during an online tutoring session as over video, many things can sometimes be missed and the closed captions can prevent this.
I will also present digital rather than printed text so that students can personalise the ways they access it. My teaching methods will also use a Student-Centric Approach as at the end of the day this is done for their benefit. I will also encourage participation as it is the key to learning. I will also encourage making mistakes as opposed to punishing them as it is my belief that we learn more from our failures or mistakes than our successes. Encourage Students' Work. Make Mistakes.
Finally, I will implement an inquiry Implement inquiry-based learning. This is a technique that is used to appeal to a students’ curiosity. Implementing it in the tutoring setting means allowing the students to identify questions that interest them and to explore those questions in an educational setting. Once your students have identified a topic of interest, they’ll need to to able to research and study their chosen subject and deliver when it comes to later exams. From this, it will be my job to be there to offer support, such as by helping your students identify reliable online sources for research and studying.
