I create my lessons using the SMART objective which involves the following steps:
1. Specific: I define my objective clearly, in detail, leaving no room for misinterpretation. Think of the five W's (who, what, when, where, and why).
2. Measurable: I ensure that I have a method to evaluate the success of the learning objective.
3. Achievable: I ensure that the objective can be achieved using the resources available to you.
4. Realistic: I ensure that the objective is realistically in line with my students’ current knowledge/skills.
5. Timely: I ensure that there is enough time to learn the objective through interactive activities.
I create multiple learning activities per objective: Once I have defined the learning objective for my dynamic lesson plan, I can create games and activities that I know will engage my students and allow them to grasp my key messages. In addition to this, I include multiple learning activities for each objective. This way, students with different learning abilities can approach the lesson in different ways.
I tailor each lesson plan to the class: Each class is unique, so it’s important to tailor each lesson plan to fit the needs of my students. I consider their interests, strengths, and weaknesses when creating my dynamic lesson.
My lessons are both fun and educational as I encourage cooperative learning: Collaborative learning will help increase students’ productivity and comprehension of the subject. Learning is the most fun when it’s surprising. I don’t just disseminate information I cloak it in mystery. Highlight the weird, the unusual, the unique.
