Long time ago, I found it difficult to engage with my friends in my local dialect. This was because I was not fluent in the language and whenever I opened my mouth to speak my local dialect, people begin to laugh at me and this made me withdraw into my shell. This continued for a few years till I went to college. I studied English language and afterwards, I decided to teach English Language.
My Purpose for teaching is personal because I know what it feels like to have language barrier and to always appear voiceless in the midst of many. Therefore, I yearn to empower my students by giving them a voice. I want to teach as many people as possible English so they can be fluent in the language and go ahead to actualize their dreams.
My short term goal is to guide students and introduce them to the necessary materials that will help them pass their examinations. While my long term goal is to build my students confidence in English language speaking, listening, reading and writing and also to help my students see the windows of opportunities that come with learning English language.
