First I get my student to be comfortable finding out their interest outside school like sports, TV shows etc. Then I ask what they really need in the subject and reasons they find the subject difficult. However, this is for the first meeting.
Subsequent meeting will start with an icebreaker, then an introduction to the topic after which we dive deep into the lessons. Questions from the student is allowed at any point in the lesson and we can have a single or multiple class activities depending on the class.
Every child is unique with their different learning styles. As a tutor, I tailor my lessons to meet the learning style of my student and also fine tune the learning materials to address the learning needs of my student.
With over 6 years experience of teaching in different curriculum such as the English curriculum (KS3, KS4, GCSE, A Level) and Scottish curriculum (National 5), International Baccalaureate (standard level). Also across exam boards such as AQA, OCR, Edexcel and SQA
My subject areas are Maths and Science for KS3, Maths, Physics and Chemistry for KS4 and National 5. I have a proven track record of improving the grades of my student and they transit to becoming life long learners. My students are now in universities like London School of Economics and Political Science, University of Nottingham, University college London etc.
I am currently Studying Renewable Energy(MSc) at the University of Hull but my undergraduate degree is a bachelors in Chemical Engineering.
