Within the past 4 years I have done tutoring in Math's and Science in all levels ranging from KS2 to A Levels for children between the ages of 8 and 17. In the more recent years, I had started doing tutoring for students who wish to take their 11+ exams as well. Having the responsibility for many students, taught me different ways to communicate more efficiently. This made me feel more confident in being able to communicate well with children which is very important for this role.
Another benefit of having this experience is that, it has allowed me to be able to adapt and structure my lessons, much more efficiently for the student I'm teaching. In a typical structure to my lessons the first half would be revising the content, specifically areas where the student may struggle more. The second half of the lesson is where we put this work into practice. We do this by going over what we've revised using exam style questions, to make sure the student knows how to answer the questions confidently.
