As an oxford-educated tutor, I believe my approach to any work will be thorough and inquisitive. My lessons are about catering to the individual student, to maximise their personal benefit. School can feel like a very systematic and universal way of teaching that might not work for everybody, so I would like to spend the first session getting to know the person: their organisational habits, their relationship to deadlines, their tendency towards visual/aural learning, their way of thinking, and their academic interests. I would never want a student to feel like a tick on my list, but to instead feel that I genuinely care about their academic progress, so that we can celebrate their accomplishments and work through any defeats together. I am there to support the student, any work they produce will be their own and they should be able to feel proud of their grades, to understand that I only help them fulfil the potential they already have. I prefer to work with neurodivergent students, due to my own neurodivergent thinking that is inevitable in my studies and work, but that is by no means a requirement. I work as an online tutor, but am flexible to the platform the student or parents might prefer (Zoom, Google meetings, Teams, etc.).

Chiara tutored me academically for around 5 months and I’m confident in saying that she was the best tutor I could have ever had during this academic journey. She helped me in writing my Personal Statement, which turned out to be so successful that I have gotten all 5 UCAS options accepted (including one Uni from the Russell Group, and an unconditional offer). I have also received letters from two of the universities, that were specifically written in regards to my Personal Statement, praising the essay and admitting that they were “struck” when reading about my passion for English Literature and Classics and revealing that it was “memorable”. Chiara is a diligent and passionate tutor who was able to solve all the struggles and anxieties that I underwent, rendering the experience all the more delightful. Her personality, wit and patience translated into a very enjoyable working environment, which I believe was the key to my achievements!
