I generally start with finding the level of my student. How far along they are and any basic/ minor mistakes they’ve made a habit. From then I work on the stemming problems whether it be technique on how to answer questions or how they derive of an answer. After a standard has been set we then focus on delivery of answers as well as time management and how to keep calm during stress inducing environments like an exam hall. My lessons are structured for roughly about 2-4 hours of work. Depending on the time allotted we’ll split the time into new learning. Recovery learning. Revision and finish with small quizzes based on the content that’s been covered over the session. Every 2-3 weeks there will be an overall test depending on how many lessons have the student has had to consolidate their knowledge. I take feedback and am very open to any questions or ideas which could enhance the next lesson or I may have overlooked. After gathering a suitable database on the students level I have created an algorithm which can structure a study plan outside of my own lecturing that isn’t too heavy that it disrupts their daily life or their regular school work. My tutoring skills not only improve the educational aspect of the students but also the mental and personal aspect. Tutoring isn’t just about feeding the knowledge the student needs. But also creating a suitable vessel for the student so not only can they contain the new information. But to have the ability to relay and teach the same information to further enhance their own skills to someone newly introduced to the subject matter.
