Charlotte Muir

Hi! I’m Charlotte, I’m a third year medical student at the University of Edinburgh, currently intercalating in Neuropsychology at Bangor University. I completed high school only a few years ago (2020) and achieved straight As at National 5, higher and advanced higher levels. I have recent and up to date knowledge and experience of what it takes to do your best in exams, and how to feel more confident in understanding your subjects. I have a special interest in sciences, however, maths is where I offer tutoring currently at national 5 level.
At national 5 level I achieved 100% in the maths exam, at higher I achieved 93%.

With maths, the key to excelling is understanding, practice and application. I strive to guide students in providing the extra attention and skills to perform their best. I can provide this through initially recognising and discussing weaker areas, and strengthen them with targeted and personalised lessons which are interactive and engaging. I will focus mostly on exam style content, however provide the theory behind problems to aid in understanding.

The format of the lesson is an online, interactive session where I will utilise my own content as well as SQA content. The most important aspect is that the lessons are tailored to the student and their own learning style, meaning we will work together to establish what works best and adapt the lessons accordingly.

An example lesson may focus on SoHCaHToA, in where we will learn the theory behind it, how to recognise the question style, and how to apply it confidently.
