I teach private lessons to people of all ages. I have a BA Hons degree from Oxford Brookes Uni in Fine Art and Music and had master classes in France, Italy and The USA. I shall begin the lesson with regular exercises and then we shall work on either grade pieces or musicals or just any songs that you like. The idea is that you learn to use your voice as naturally as possible developing your range and intonation and develop a supple voice with expression and effortlessness. Results will come with regular practice so it is important to develop a repertoire that the student is inspired by as well as broadening it. Confidence building is such a large part of my teaching and learning to sing, I think, is a good way to build it.
Now that my children are a little older, I would like to share some of what I’ve learnt with those interested.
I can play the piano for accompaniment and together we can build up a repertoire of songs that you can perform once you feel confident. Otherwise you can just sing for your own pleasure.
