The difference between grades at GCSE can largely be attributed to the level of the individual’s passion and unique methods of understanding; schools do not account for this and instead provide a blanket explanation that only just works for the majority of students. I like to think that my methods are different enough that even quite reluctant students can really begin to flourish and become stand out mathematicians and scientists in the ever expanding classes of secondary schools. I like to go through various bespoke explanations and proofs of concepts in my subjects so that my tutees can begin to understand everything intuitively. Again, this is the key difference.
Schools are more descriptive than explanatory, which I believe is entirely antithetical to the natures of these subjects. Rather than the standard ‘sit down, shut up, this is how it is’ - my approach is based on the standard scientific process: ‘here is a problem, here is how it works, here is WHY it works’.
If a student begins to struggle in these subjects in school, it is entirely too fast that they get left behind and become uninspired. Not only can I catch them up to speed, but I can launch them way ahead with a range of levels of difficulty. I can start foundational, move toward more applied contexts, and then extend past the usual GCSE expectation just so my learners can fully succeed in attaining the best possible grades.
I can help you towards a set of results to be truly proud of. Something you can show off.
