Lessons in mathematics will generally involve two parts. Firstly, teaching the content through the use of whiteboards and diagrams. Asking questions at this stage is very much encouraged in order to ensure students understand the core concepts. The latter part of the lessons will be focused on exam questions. First, the student will attempt the question then we will go through it together on my whiteboard. I choose questions dependent on the syllabus the student is taking and what is most likely to come up in their exams.
Lessons in history are divided in a 2:1 ratio between content/analytical understanding and exam technique. Content/analytical understanding is very conversational and often very entertaining. Exam technique lessons make sure that the understanding gained from the previous lessons is presented in a way amenable to testing.
