I've been teaching for over ten years in various capacities - from private one-on-one tutoring to working as a lecturer and supervisor at a wide variety of UK universities. My main areas of experience are in architecture, planning, and general university application support. I've helped dozens of students achieve their first choice university by working with them to improve their applications and supported many more in achieving 1st class degrees once in university.
My approach to teaching is varied and flexible, I believe that the best approach is contextual depending on the type of student I am working with. As such, I make sure to get to know the student as well as possible so that I can best tailor the learning experience to their needs.
I teach online since this allows me to be as flexible and available as possible for my students. Typically I will see a student once a week, but this can be more or less often depending on the student's specific needs and preferences. In terms of class content, I will often send material ahead of a class to help students feel prepared, and ensure that they are supported through consistent communication and material they can access and learn from outside of our classes. Additionally, if a student needs help with proofreading or editing of their work, then we can arrange sessions that are not face-to-face, and are more open-ended and collaborative in nature.
