I am happy to have an initial assessment with the person wanting to be tutored to support them with their learning aims and objectives. I find that I can use a diverse and mixed method of tools, including sounds, pictures, reviewing documents, video players in English, phonetic sounds, practice exercise questions and several other methods. I think that each person is an individual and therefore their learning needs to be tailored to their desired needs. Once I am aware of the competence of each person, I can explore their expectations and support them with the development of the English language. My experience has been two-way communication and co-designed. I want to ensure that each person gains the maximum value from the sessions and feels completely supported during the sessions. I often ensure that each person is able to routinely share feedback, thoughts and consider content for their sessions. I want to maximise the value of each session and help people progress their learning and understanding. I use the first part of the session to clarity the expected aims and objectives for each person, Secondly, I state how we will achieve these objectives. Thirdly, I deliver the session to ensure that each person is able to learn, reflect and develop throughout. I do not overwhelm students. Ultimately, I try to develop people to become self-learners, which I have found maximises the value of the sessions and their overall personal development. These are my methods for developing people and our co-designed sessions.
