Charis Fox

I am a friendly, engaging and experienced English teacher with 17 years experience in UK Comprehensive Secondary schools. I am confident, clear and chatty, and will make students feel comfortable. I teach full time, but am available for tutoring sessions evenings and weekends.

I mainly teach English, but I am also a Media Studies teacher. I have taught widely across ages 11-18 and different ability levels throughout my career and have extensive knowledge of a wide range of GCSE and A Level set texts. I currently teach AQA for exams, but can easily adapt lessons and resources for any exam board as required.

I am comfortable teaching online, even if you are shy and don’t want to turn your camera on. I love how online shared documents allow for instant feedback.

I also have experience exam marking at GCSE, in both English Language and English Literature, so I can help you to understand assessment objectives and what is required from mark schemes. I can mark your work quickly and accurately, and give you specific pointers on how to improve.

I have a wide range of resources and exam style questions and can help you to organise revision and create amazing and engaging revision resources and show you how to use them effectively.
