I offer lessons in Japanese and English from beginner to advanced, using a range of different softwares, online tools, and study techniques that I have learned in my own Japanese language journey from complete beginner to PhD-level advanced. In particular, Japanese for business and academia is my specialism, but as I have lived in Japan and studied the language for nearly a decade, I am able to teach everyday and casual-style Japanese as well.

The content of the classes will vary dramatically based on the students goals, level and learning style. I do not believe in a one-size fits all approach to learning a language (or to learning anything for that matter). Expect to have a detailed discussion during the first lesson about exactly what you want to be able to accomplish in you language journey. Expect real Japanese content/sources, regular target setting and review, with a clear plan and online schedule that will guarantee you meet your goals and timeline.

If you have been trying to improve your English or Japanese but haven't seen the progress that you'd like, I'd very much encourage you to give me a try. The standard teaching approach or language textbook might work for some people, but it certainly didn't work for me. I offer a unique style of teaching that comes from the real experience of gaining fluency in Japanese as a native English speaker. Whether you are learning English or Japanese, I can make use of the tips, tricks and techniques I have developed as a linguist to assist.

In general I am happy to work in person, where the location isn't too far from my base in Fulham broadway, or online. My rate is also flexible if the student has financially difficulties – just discuss with me in advance.
