I use to write piano arrangements for each student. I prepare the song that they want to play according to the level that they have.
We can play classical music or we can play another kind of music. Every music can be useful for us to learn some specific theory or technic, or maybe for create new music ideas.
Because of that, I ask to my students in the first class that make a top 10 list of their favourite songs and give it to me, to know their musical preferences and starting to make a plan around it. I always find interesting things in these lists.
I like planning piano concerts as well! And usually, I give piano lessons online so, my concerts are usually in YouTube, in a private link of course. I always take care of the privacy of my students because most of them are kids.
We use to prepare a videoclip playing their songs that we were learning and practicing in the classes. The videoclip is a special moment for each student, a challenge. The huge challenge as to play in a real concert.
After all of this, I edit the videos and make a big movie with all these songs. I like to make a collaborative song at the end of the concert with all the pianists to unify each other, no matter where they live, or if they speak different languages. Music is for sharing.
