I achieved a BA (Hons) in Sociology in 2005 and then a MA in Social Work in 2007. I then went on to work on community mental health teams for 15 years. I qualified as a Dialectical Behaviour Therapist in 2017. Alongside this I qualified as a lecturer with Postgraduate Diploma in Education in 2015.
I am currently registered on a research-focussed Masters in Education while working part time as a Neurodevelopmental Practitioner in a service assessing children for autism and ADHD. I am also a specialist mentor for university students up to PhD level who have mental health difficulties and / or neurodiverse conditions such as ADHD and autism.
All of these qualifications and the experience means that I can tutor anyone studying the social sciences, health and social care and social work. I can provide guidance with college and university applications and personal statements. I can also support with job applications and interview skills for jobs in the health and social care sector.
I can support students with autism, ADHD and mental health conditions with learning any subject.
I also offer study skills to those struggling with particular aspects of learning such as assignments, dissertation writing, critical analysis, literature reviews, revision and presentation skills.
I can offer one off sessions or a series of them.
I provide coaching for job applications and interviews in the social work sector.
I prefer to offer all of this online through remote sessions but I'm based in Lancashire if you would be more comfortable with face to face sessions then please ask.
I am very passionate about teaching and learning and love to adapt to individual needs so that students can enjoy learning as much as I do.
