My name is Catherine. I have a a Bachelor of Education degree in English and Theatre studies from Kingston University in London. I taught in primary schools in England for 16 years.
I was also lucky enough to live in Italy for 5 years, where I taught English to all age-groups at British Institute and privately. It was a wonderful experience and I enjoyed embracing the Italian culture and learning the language.
I love teaching all age groups, every student is unique and it is so rewarding watching them progress and having fun learning English. I have a patient manner and listen to my students. I am always positive and model excellent grammar, sentence structure and pronunciation. All my lessons are tailored to meet the individual needs of the student and are planned meticulously; I first of all enjoy getting to know my student, what their level is and what they enjoy, then I am able to deliver the perfect lesson. This can include games, quizes and conversations based on interests,
either personal or professional.
For the last 8 years I have taught in Nursery and with this age group I love using stories, story characters and songs to bring language alive. Having teenage children myself I am also very familiar with using teenage interests as inspiration for learning.
I am a friendly teacher and for me the most important thing is that my students enjoy their lessons, whilst progressing towards the final product of being confident and comfortable with English.
