I have been teaching Art for over 20 years in varied types of secondary school both locally and abroad. I have run an after school arts club for primary students at my own children's school and have run several adult workshops on printing and painting. I am currently Head of Art and a large comprehensive concentrating on students at their GCSE and A level stage but could currently tutor on Thursdays or Fridays.

I am happy to work with students in person or online, in one to one or in small groups. My degree is in Fine Art and English and my specialism is painting and printing. I have a broad knowledge of Modern Art movements and enjoy supporting students with critical studies, writing about art, as well as their practical work.

In lessons, I would demonstrate a technique and then explain the stages of how to achieve that affect. I love to connect lots of the practical work to an artist or art style and would share images of others work to inspire students to create. We can mind map to develop own ideas and then use various types of drawing to plan towards a main piece. Bringing in other interests such as sports, music ,family and friends can really inspire creativity so often look here for ideas and visual staring points. I like to encourage not criticise and aim to show people that there are so many different ways to be creative.
