My first lesson will include a variety of questions so that I can ascertain the student’s skill level, as well as areas of weakness and strength. From there I will tailor lessons focusing on specific topics each week in order to build confidence in weaker areas, and turn them into areas of strength. From there, I will focus on exam preparation using materials published by the exam board themselves. I believe that confidence is the most important factor in determining a successful student and so this will be the focus of my initial lessons. I hope to create an environment where students aren’t afraid to ask questions and further their knowledge, I think this kind of environment creates a love for maths! I myself struggled with maths at GCSE level, managing to bring my grade up from a 4 to a 7 with the help of an amazing tutor and I wish to do the same for other students. My tutor built my confidence up from the ground and encouraged me to take further mathematics at A-level, where I worked hard and managed to achieve an A*. I wouldn’t have been able to do this without the mentoring I received, and I want to encourage anyone struggling with maths to enjoy it the way I did! Maths is an incredible subject which opens up so many opportunities and I hope to share my love for maths with as many students as I can! I hope you consider me when looking for a mathematics tutor.
