Cat Mildred

I have 12 years of teaching experience, both online and in the classroom. I have taught general, exam (including IELTS) and academic English and have taught all levels of English as a second language. I am DELTA qualified and most recently worked at the University of Leeds. I have taught groups and individuals and have also plenty of experience creating classroom materials.

I like to work closely with my students to find out how they prefer to learn and then I adapt my lessons as such. It is important to find methods that work well for each individual and then I gently push them towards their goals. I like to challenge my students whilst offering a strong level of support and I love to be asked questions.

I am a former language learner myself so I understand the challenges of learning a second language and I feel that this makes me a better teacher. I have helped lots of students prepare for their IELTS exams, I have helped students adapt to life in the UK and learn general English, and I have helped numerous students prepare for their Master's, undergraduate degrees and PhD's at the university of Leeds.
