I have over a year of tutoring experience. I used to tutor undergraduate psychology students on a one-on-one basis while I was an undergraduate student. I have now obtained my Master of Sciences in Clinical Psychology. I also have experience as a research assistant in psychology at The University of Hertfordshire as well as prior experience as a mental health support worker.
As I know people can learn in different ways (visual, auditory, kinaesthetic, etc), I am happy to adjust my teaching style to best suit the student's needs. My default teaching method utilising a combination of the basic learning styles. My usual method involves visual heavy PowerPoints with lots of examples, asking the student questions throughout the session, and optional worksheets to practise on their own. I like to ask a lot of initial questions about what the student may need specific help on (i.e. a specific chapter or concept) and if there are particular goals that the student may have for themselves. I am confident in my ability to explain information, especially in different ways to ensure that the information comes across in a format that makes sense to the student.
I am also competent in essay writing workshops and CV building if these skills are needed as well.
