My style of yoga is gentle but deep, and is not about shape, holding difficult poses and competition, either with the self, or others. Helping to release stiffness, tightness and improving posture which will positively impact on peoples life, wellbeing and muscular systems and body alignment, In turn this helps to reduce inflammation, injuries and other ailments such as headaches and digestive issues.
Yoga is not just a great form of exercise. as mentioned above there benefits are also distributed to the mind. Yoga is great for managing bouts of low mood and other mental health conditions.
My teaching style sis inclusive, encouraging, compassionate and non-judgmental. My focus is to bring the best out in my participants, top assist them to feel safe, emotionally and physically and to encourage them to try new and differing opportunities. I teach with words, music, demonstrations and partner work where possible. For younger children I use stories and imagination to link to themes that are child friendly and inclusive for all. Most of all I establish strong boundaries within class teachings, and incorporate fun elements.
Yoga has a a system of observances such as kindness, honesty, self-study, cleanliness and these themes are included in my teachings. These observances act as great messages and the development of life skills and being a rounded citizen.
