Hi!

I have been teaching English for over twenty years, so I have a wealth of knowledge and experience to impart, as well as being an examiner. I love my job because it's so creative and varied. I tailor lessons to your specific needs and what you want to get out of the tuition sessions.

I enjoy tutoring English Language and English Literature in equal measure and know the specifications for the different exam boards inside-out. I have been an examiner for both A Level English Literature and English Language (I currently examine English Language A Level for one of the major exam boards).

I love using interactive platforms such as Jamboard and Padlet, as well as the interactive whiteboard, so that you can post your ideas (if online) and keep a copy of the platform page for revision purposes.

Tutees tell me that they like my relaxed and friendly manner, but they also like that I push them to get better! I use materials which are focused on the mark schemes for the particular specification you are studying which allow you to see how you can keep gaining marks on the assessment objectives as you progress.

I offer detailed feedback on your essays which always refers to the mark scheme for the specification, looking at how to achieve marks in the high bands.

I can also provide guidance and coaching on Russell Group and Oxbridge applications. I have years of experience in helping students with UCAS personal statements and practice on the ELAT for Oxford applicants.
