I have taught Photography for over 20 years at a variety of different schools and colleges across London and Kent. I am a driven and determined photographer and photography teacher who has a uniquely diverse career working as a Fine Art photographer for the Tate, Community Artist facilitating photography workshops on the streets in Rio de Janeiro, Educator and Photographer for Grassroots Charities.
My creative flair enables me to design innovative projects and stimulating effective resources, which really motivate students to achieve their full potential. To engage my students, I always aim to create an inspiring, supportive, and dynamic teaching environment to enable the students to enjoy the course and feel free to express themselves creatively. I encourage the students to discover their own individuality and develop their independence as learners. To ensure my teaching meets the individual learning needs of my students my lessons are well planned with clear aims and objectives. My lessons are part of a well-structured scheme of work which I have organised. I have always emphasised the importance of differentiation throughout my teaching resources to meet the needs of every individual learner.
I am confident using my IT skills and embedding the software Microsoft, Photoshop, iMovie within my lessons. I have created a bank of visual stimulating resources to support my learners throughout the course and to help them become more confident. I am always keen to upskill and learn new software and programs to support my teaching. During lockdown I created a YouTube channel. This really benefitted the photography students and they continue to use this as a resource to help them work independently.
