Carol Heath-Smith

I have 25 years experience working with students with specific learning difficulties, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, ADHD and autism. I have been a SENCo in independent schools in both the UK and internationally. I am a qualified dyslexia assessor and neuro change practitioner, with a particular interest in how social and emotional intelligence impact on learning and life in general. I like to work collaboratively with clients seeking how to enable them to achieve all they want to. I can work online or in person, depending on location.
I see myself more a s a coach rather than a teacher. My own business is called ' Discovering the Power of You' as I truly believe that once you truly understand yourself and your purpose and direction in life, then everything else tends to flow much better. I am fascinated by how the brain works, in particular the role of the subconscious and how our limiting beliefs about ourselves can stop us achieving all that we are capable of.
I am currently living and working between North Devon and the Gloucestershire area if face to face is your preferred methos of working but also online can work just as well. Building a relationship and getting to know one another is the starting point, so if you feel this style might work well for you then do get in touch. I am stronger on the literacy/ English/ Arts side of things rather than the maths and sciences but it depends on what level you are looking for.
