I have been a “private tutor” since I was in my last year of high school. I studied in the United States when I was 15, so when I came back, as my classmates struggled with English, I offered to help them. It has always been a pleasure for me to do this. It was very satisfactory to see people succeed with one’s help and, even more, to see how people who hated a subject ended up enjoying it once they could understand it.

After high school, I started taking this job more seriously, and, while in college, I would tutor between 4-5 students ages 6-18 years old during the academic year. I also did it during the summers, face-to-face and online. The subjects I would help them with were English, Spanish and Maths. No student’s learning path was the same as the previous one, making my teaching very flexible and resilient to the different realities I had to face when meeting a new student. I have been very surprised by how simply adapting the exercise to their interests and needs made such a difference on their learning experience. I have taught kids with speech and other learning impediments and their success was not different to the other students. It did required for me to get to know the students more personally, to identify what motivated them and to adapt the classes to their needs, but the satisfaction I felt after their success was totally worth it.

I would really love to keep helping students eager to learn Spanish to accomplish their goals. I can’t promise you to be perfect, but I can ensure unlimited enthusiasm, hard work and so much passion and dedication.
