Hi, I’m Carissa Dmello, a pharmacist by qualification and a tutor by passion. As a registered pharmacist with a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a
Master's student in Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Glasgow, I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills that are directly applicable to teaching Mathematics. So, my academic background, combined with my experience in scientific research and data analysis, gives me the firm grounding needed to help students understand mathematical concepts.
During higher secondary school, I excelled in English, Computer Science, Chemistry, Physics, and Maths, achieving grades of A, A, B, B, and A, respectively. In my fourth year of B. Pharmacy, I graduated with a CGPA of 7.64 (First Class with Distinction), which reflects my dedication and
commitment to academic excellence.
For my final year project, I worked on a Cross-linked Gel for Sustained Release using Pluronic Copolymers, I relied heavily on mathematical modeling to predict drug release rates, demonstrating the practical applications of maths in scientific research. This experience has enhanced my ability to explain abstract mathematical ideas by connecting them to real-life applications, making learning more engaging for students.
In addition, being a student volunteer has turned me into a patient and effective teacher. My dedication to aiding elementary students in realizing their learning capabilities cannot be understated, as I aim to demystify confusing concepts and lesson delivery. I am confident that these skills will help me to build a supportive environment for your students.
