My personal approach to teaching is to teach how I would like to be taught. As a visual learner my lessons are catered towards that style of teaching however I can adjust my lessons to other types of learning preferences.
I try to keep engagement high in my classes and I make sure very one gets to voice their thoughts and ideas. I personally believe it is crucial that each student takes something from every lessons.
I primarily use presentations and videos of live demonstrations to show ideas and concepts to the students. Lessons are normally broken up into 4 sections: introduction, demonstration, discussions, refection.
When assisting with homework I try to encourage the students to use their own logic while guiding them to the correct answer. Most of my experience comes from teaching maths at a GCSE level as a teaching assistant and teaching chemistry at a university level as a graduate teaching assistant.
I can teach chemistry up to a university level or mathematics up to a GCSE level. I have completed a PhD in chemistry which was primarily focused on the physical and mathematical aspects of chemistry.
I offer a range of lessons from basic tuition, group lessons, or homework assistance. I do set tasks for the students to complete between lessons which will only take 30 minutes and will assist in the student’s educational skills preparing them for their A-levels and university studies. These assignments will range from questions to answer to short essays to write.
