With aspiring to be a future vet I have to be able to communicate effectively, I see this as a great strength of mine. From revising at home and university to get the grades I wanted (and needed to achieve my goals) I feel as though I have 'cracked the code' for studying.
When tutoring I like to start the first session by asking the students certain areas in the subject they're struggling with, I then use this as the framework for future tutorial sessions.
At the beginning of a session I often start with giving an overview of the topic that the student has chosen themselves, we then proceed this by completing homework they may be struggling with or if that is not the case I have a large range of questions we can work through together.
If the student feels as though they're understanding the basic concepts then we progress to highlighting some finer details of the topic and continue this pattern in a methodical manner.
