From an early age I always loved to read which, consequently, translated into a love for English. Fast forward to my GCSE Results Day in 2019, and this passion was embodied in my achievement of an A grade in English Literature and an A* in English Language. Unsurprisingly, I went on to study English Literature and Language at A Level, achieving a grade B in both at the end of my two years as an A-Level student in 2021. From then to the present day, I am a student of English Literature and Language at Cardiff University; an institution of higher learning renowned for its prestigious Arts faculty. Of the two years I have so far completed, I am averaging high 2:1s (As) and low 1sts (A*s), once more showcasing my passion for the subject and its steady growth since beginning study at university.

Now, onto the formatting of my lessons. Owing to my young age, I have a keen awareness of the current national curriculum, and what it is examination boards look for in GCSE/ A Level exam papers as indicators of a high level response. Coupled with this and my own in depth understanding of what an examination response needs to include, I believe I can help you/ your child to either progress with their studies, or maybe just to provide a helping hand in developing their understanding. Bearing this in mind, sessions from now (September) until December would focus on equipping students with the necessary tools to craft a high level response during their examinations. Examples of this would include practising analysing texts and nailing terminology and its correct application. From December lessons would follow a different trajectory, and would focus on the actual writing of a response and how these can differ according to subject. During these lessons, it will be sentence structure and content that are primarily focused upon, with it being these that, in my experience, that students struggle with.
