During my time as an undergraduate and master's student, I volunteered weekly with an elementary or high school student at a local library who was struggling in a certain subject to deliver individualized assistance. I then monitored and recorded the progress being made in order to alter a proposed individual student plan if need be. This was an incredibly rewarding and humbling experience, as I was able to work with students in minority communities and/or those facing financial disparities with their educational opportunities. I was also a reading comprehension tutor with elementary students at a local primary school, where I helped to improve their grammar, fluency, and comprehension skills. I especially enjoy working with other university students and/or upcoming professionals when it comes to reviewing resumes, cover letters, or other related materials.

Since the start of my university career in 2017, I have been interested in fields related to wildlife and environmental conservation. I have gained research experience while completing both my bachelor’s and master’s theses, and I am looking to develop my skills even further as I pursue further related and global experiences. I have also volunteered at local animal shelters and am currently training to become a veterinarian and exotic animals assistant.

Overall, I am looking to gain more experience with Biology and English tutoring and communication with different people. I highly value speaking and discussions on a variety of topics in order to broaden my own world view. I love engaging with organizations and opportunities that allow for me to expand my own perspectives, as well as provide mutual exchanges with those I work with. I enjoy helping others develop their professional skills as well by providing feedback on academic essays o or creative writing, resume and cover letter feedback, as well as mock interview questions.
