Brian Garvan

I spent a number of years living and working in France to add to an MA in the language and a business degree from a major Parisian business school. I am passionate about the country, its landscapes and its language.

I tailor my approach based on the student’s objectives but like to focus on developing confidence and accuracy in communication by creating strategies for attaining grammar and vocabulary development. I am familiar with GCSE and A-level syllabuses in the U.K. and can identify and train students in areas that require development in order to boost their examination scores.

Having studied French literature and cinema, I can also develop essay and dissertation plans to address specific requirements of students at a higher level.

Finally, with a couple of decades experience working in industry in the domains of travel, hospitality and technology, I can help support specific commercial or diplomatic communication objectives that English speakers may have in French.

Most of all, I like to keep my sessions enjoyable so that students not only see progress, but enjoy the process of developing their language skills to a higher level and start to develop the same intrigue and fascination with the language and the culture that I have over the years.
