In my maths tutoring sessions, I prioritise understanding the unique learning styles and preferences of each student. Before delving into any new material, I take the time to assess their current knowledge and identify areas where they may be struggling. Through patient observation and open communication, I gauge how they best absorb and process information, whether it's through visual aids, hands-on activities, or verbal explanations.

Once I have a clear understanding of their learning needs, I tailor the lesson plans accordingly. I revisit challenging concepts, breaking them down into smaller, more manageable steps, and providing additional explanations or examples as needed. This revision process helps reinforce understanding and addresses any gaps in comprehension.

Throughout our sessions, I incorporate regular assessments to gauge the student's progress and understanding. These may take the form of quizzes, practice problems, or interactive activities designed to test their ability and reinforce learning. By regularly assessing their skills and understanding, I can adapt the lesson plans as needed to ensure continuous growth and improvement.

In addition to regular lessons, I provide extra practice materials and assignments to encourage independent learning and reinforce classroom concepts. These supplementary resources not only help increase their proficiency in maths but also foster a stronger work ethic and a deeper understanding of the subject matter.

Moreover, I place a strong emphasis on building the student's confidence and self-esteem. I create a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and making mistakes. Through positive reinforcement and constructive feedback, I help them overcome challenges and develop a growth mindset, instilling in them the belief that they can succeed in maths and beyond.
