My name is Brenda, and I am a scientist transitioning to the health communications sector. Following my BSc (Hons) in Biomedical science, I worked as a molecular biology research assistant with the Makerere Biomedical Research Centre in Kampala, Uganda. This opportunity allowed me to specialise in genetics and immunology because of the work we dealt with in the lab. I have also worked as a medical laboratory technician and a healthcare assistant. I share my background to paint a picture of how passionate I am about science.
As my biology teacher did with me, I aim to tailor my lessons to my students. I use graphics, videos and detailed explanations to develop your understanding of integral scientific concepts. This style is what allowed me to advance my scientific career, so I know it will be effective for all of my tutees!
