I strongly believe that the most effective teaching program caters to the unique needs of each individual student. Not everyone thinks the same way, and the same can be said about how people learn. For this reason, early lessons will be devoted to establishing a lesson/practice plan built from the expectations and preferred focus areas of the student. For example, if the student is more comfortable speaking than they are reading, then significantly more time will be devoted to reading than speaking. That said, structure is still very important, and the student is not expected to know what they need to work on beforehand. We will figure that out together. Moreover, if the student prefers a more traditional teacher/student dynamic, that is fine as well. Above all, I understand that learning a language is extremely challenging and can be quite discouraging at times. My primary goal is to establish a safe educational environment where the student feels comfortable making mistakes. This is an essential part of learning anything, especially a language. I'm a native English speaker who has spent more than eight years teaching different kinds of people different kinds of things in different fields. What's more, as a constant student myself, I've come into contact with a vast assortment of teaching methods, both good and bad. Over the course of many years, I've come to believe that the only way to teach well is to listen. Let's learn together.
