My Bachelor degree in Language and Linguistics gives me the scholastic knowledge of second language acquisition, while my experience living in foreign countries for extended periods gives me the unmatched first-hand knowledge of what it's like to learn a language.
Our lessons would be accessible via Zoom or Microsoft Teams, where we would meet 1-2 times per week at an agreed time for a 50 minute lesson together. In our first online meeting, we establish a rapport and ensure that everyone is on the same page, on top of that, we will discuss what you would consider to be your concerns and your current level of understanding. From this, I will take the time outside our first lesson to tailor our further classes to adapt to you and your expectations of me. Before every lesson finishes, we will debrief together and reflect on the emotional side of language learning (super important for motivation!), and then discuss what completed tasks you should bring to our next lesson. The four main content areas are; reading, writing, listening and speaking. I prefer a focus on conversational speaking and how to succeed in the real-world, rather than focusing on text-book/literary success, however, I am open to any goal a student has in their language learning journey.

I've had experience in the past as a 1:1 tutor where I taught people English and Spanish aged 5 - 40 years, and everyone has enjoyed their experience with me! The difference with me is, I am passionate about language learning, and I love seeing my students realise their potential. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students master the subject matter but also to instil in them a love for learning and the confidence to overcome challenges.
