Hi, I have been a teacher of English Language in Senior Secondary Schools in Nigeria for over 5 years. I am a graduate of English Education from one of the leading universities and recently moved into the United Kingdom for my Masters Program in Education at the University of Hull. While I seek more knowledge in my chosen field of career I intend to tutor students who may be interested in learning the systems of English Language. My knowledge of the language and its system had made me over the years a competent teacher. I have an indepth knowledge of the subject. I am a user of the language, an analyst hence, I reflect on my implicit and explicit knowledge to teach students. Also I will ensure higher levels of engagement- willingness to deal with language issues and questions that arise in lesson. It is known that, language is complex, amorphous, confusing. Grammar helps order it for learners.I will ensure students learn grammar rules by heart and use it appropriately not just vocabulary alone. My students will be exposed to authentic texts and communicative practice.
On the system of phonology which is another system in English Language, the study of sound patterns and structures. I will ensure students are aware of the patterns of the phonemes of the language and the rules for combining them. The other two system, i.e, lexis and discourse will be treated in our lessons so as to know how they are used in the language.
