I take students who might be feeling a little bit lost amongst their studies or feel the transition from primary to secondary is a little bit daunting and I help turn that negative energy into resilience, determination and self reliance. I have been part of a pastoral team within a secondary school and I know first hand that the curriculum isn't designed for everyone. There are so many of us, myself included who learn and take in information easier when it's away from the classroom. That's where my idea of 'Sports Learning' comes into play. Through developing your skills in a sport such as boxing, that unlocks different neural-pathways, it will help your ability to digest and process information. It is also proven to develop discipline, patience and resilience.
My sessions are structured so that you get a great workout developing your boxing skills and you also get a chance to release any negative energy; whether that be talking it through with myself or just hitting my pads as hard as you can! I guarantee when you leave, you're a lot less angrier than when you walked in! And you'll have learnt a vital lesson in between. I am looking to develop my own counselling skills and I am currently enrolled on a Counselling Skills Course through Wiltshire College. I am mobile and can deliver my sessions at home or in a safe place. I have all my own equipment. I have an up to date DBS, Safeguarding policy and first aid. Not to mention years of experience delivering Health well-being sessions to young people for the last 10 years.
