Hello, my name is Bismah and I am a Speech and Language Therapy graduate. I have always enjoyed maths, biology, and chemistry, and they were subjects I excelled in at school. I am excited to share my knowledge and experience to help and support others in these subjects.

I have had previous experience working in school as an academic mentor with year 10 and 11 students to help them reach their GCSE grades. This included one to one teaching in all main core subjects, exam prep, invigilating during exams.

I will structure my lessons by introducing the topic to the students and getting their initial thoughts on what they already know. My next steps would be to work through any questions or needs that are required to help strengthen the knowledge. I will also work on how to answer questions in an exam by using examples from previous exam papers and revision guides.

I think visual learning can really work well as it gives the student the opportunity to process information well if aided with appropriate diagrams, tables, and charts to help consolidate their learning. Using existing past papers under timed conditions really helped me prepare for my school exams as this would give me an idea of my strengths and weaknesses in certain topics within the subject.
