I use lesson plans with bespoke learning goals for each lesson. Obviously I don’t use Prezi or PowerPoint as I usually work one to one. However in groups I use the packages just mentioned and whiteboards, VLE, online learning packages etc. With GCSE students I use conversation and paper based exercises and with children I use online interactive packages and paper. I give homework to older children. I use past papers from GCSE, SATs and phonics exams and testing. I use cut outs, puzzle books, games and interactive packages with younger children. With older students I use a range of interesting media and I keep my tutoring relevant to each age group. I’m told I make lessons fun, demystifying and I build confidence and self esteem and my tutees get results. It is more than a job to me it is my passion and my vocation to help young people to succeed. And adults for that matter. I have an ongoing DBS for student and parent reassurance.
