Learning a new language can be discouraging and quite nerve wracking especially if you’re settling in a new place. I intend to focus on the prominent aspects of English, touching on conversational dynamics and familiarising yourself with the language even if you don’t yet comprehend it fully. I come from immigrant parents and have a very cultural background, English isn’t even my first language!! I understand how to efficiently communicate with those who struggle with English and choose to focus on the foundation of the language before rushing into the potentially ‘scary’ parts. An effective part of adapting to a new language is through spelling and grammar, a primary technique to master basic and intermediate English. Through reading and writing, you’ll gradually and smoothly find comfort with your new language! The fun part is also watching movies and videos, it’s not all boring and educational. I advise stepping out of your comfort zone and occasionally speaking English with others to improve your confidence also.
