My tutoring method:
I will base my lessons on the student's preferred area of study. For example, I can give guidance if a student wants to focus on paragraph structure in English or sociology, or present tense in Spanish. I will be flexible with tutoring and not confine lessons to one topic, instead allowing us to explore the areas of the subject that need the most work. I can consolidate any work done in school/college, or offer alternative perspectives to help students understand their learning.
I can offer guidance on exam questions and the best ways to answer them. Personally, I tend to approach essay questions with a formulaic mindset that makes sure each key piece of information is covered. I can help students to develop their own forms of answering questions that will allow them to reach top grades in their exams.

My experience:
I am at university studying Spanish and English for my undergraduate degree. With Spanish, as well as studying grammar, I can offer support with learning cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking community.
For English, I can help with essay question structure and content, quotation learning, and comprehension. Having achieved full marks on my A-level NEA, I can give guidance on this too.
I achieved an A* grade in sociology A-level studying the topics: families and households; media; crime and deviance; education. If a student is not studying all of these same topics, I can give more support with exam question structure instead of content.

Overall, I aim to provide friendly and competent tutoring that will allow students to refine their subject knowledge and exam techniques. This will supplement any learning done in school.
