I am a huge advocate of engaging workshops, and also utilising past papers. I have led tutoring sessions before, and have also had experience teaching oracy skills to younger students in private schools.
I’d like my students to feel comfortable and confident within my sessions, and I truly believe I can offer that to them in order to utilise their knowledge in English Language.
I achieved a 9,9 in both English Language and Literature, as well as currently studying English Language at A-Level whilst achieving and predicted an A*.
English Language is a very practical skill, it does not have a set formula, and so my teaching skills need to be adapted to suit each new learner.
The first session will consist of a practice paper, and a conversation of what the students expect from my sessions, in order to gauge their current skills, and where they need support.
By offering private, one on one tutoring, the students will have the opportunity to be able to be fully supported at each step of their learning process.
My sessions will mainly focus on text analysis, with a bi-weekly creative/persuasive writing session. This can be adjusted if the student needs more support in creative writing.
I hope to make English Language not only enjoyable, but also accessible for more students to achieve passes, or securing their knowledge to achieve higher grades.
My tutoring sessions will run during week nights, and I can occasionally offer weekend sessions if the students need more support.
