My name is Beth, I am currently studying an integrated masters degree in chemical engineering, I have always loved theory and scientific methods especially in chemistry as it's all very applied. I have 9 GCSEs graded 9-8 and 3 A levels in chemistry, maths and biology all at a grade A. I'm chatty, friendly and personable, I love a conversation and will get on with anyone. I like to provide a chilled out environment not strictly limited to education where we can have our own unrelated conversations whilst still ensuring I am providing top tier tutoring tailored to each individual student. Communication is key and I am always happy to adapt my lessons to each individual student to make sure we both get the most out of our lessons together, looking forward to teaching you all! My sessions are always student-led, getting to know each other as well as the best way possible my students work and learn and adapting my lessons to reflect the student. I won't always follow my plan for each of the lessons if I feel like there's a better approach I can take to help my students absorb the information I'm teaching them as I know not one size fits all for tutoring. Generally, I like to go through any content and fill in any gaps in knowledge during the first part of my lessons, allowing students the time to make notes or ask any questions about the content which I am always happy to answer as it shows my students are engaged and eager to learn. Normally, the best way I've found to rapidly improve my students' grades is by doing exam-style questions where we work through them together, using prompts to help build confidence and then compare answers to the official mark scheme. I think the best way to encourage learning is by making it fun and interactive, whether that's by using the whiteboard feature together to go through questions or even setting up a Kahoot to test knowledge! One thing is for sure, no two of my lessons will ever be the same and I'm looking forward to helping some of you unlock your potential and achieve the best grades possible!
