I am a Qualified History Teacher from Years 7-13. I hold my Bachelors and Masters degrees in History as well as having a Bachelors of Education. I am originally from Canada where I taught for 3 years, and have taught and lived in the UK for 7 years now.

I have taught and tutored the EdExcel, OCR and IGCSE EdExcel exam boards at GCSE and OCR at A-level. I am an examiner for the Ed-Excel exam board.

My specialist subjects include the Tudors, Weimar and Nazi Germany and the Cold War. I have also previously taught Conflict in the Middle East, Making of America, and the Elizabethans.

I come with a wealth of tools to support you in reaching your potential in History. All pupils will have my technique guides and question banks shared with them to support their prep for public exam. I am also happy to share lesson PowerPoints that I use with my own pupils for independent revision.

I will plan my tutoring sessions to best meet your needs. This may look like re-teaching core content, modelling effective revision skills or working through past questions. I prefer to work on Google Meet due to the variety of interactive tools that I can use to work with pupils online.

In addition to my classroom responsibilities, I run the History Department at my school and lead our intervention sessions so am equipped to support pupils of all abilities. I have a record of academic success with several cohorts achieving 50% grade 9 or higher on their public exams.
